After their first game of the year, the Cavaliers made news by resigning forward Cedi Osman to a four year deal worth up to 31 million dollars. The third year man out of Turkey has averaged nine points and four rebounds in his career so far. He looks to make a jump in his third year, now.
Cleveland Cavaliers Extend Cedi Osman
What does this mean for Cleveland?

Well, first of all, this an amazing deal based off of money for Cleveland. Osman hasn’t put up amazing numbers so far, but the former second round pick has good potential. It’s a surprising deal, based off of other extensions we’ve seen recently. Jaylen Brown, a player who averaged thirteen points and four rebounds last year got a four year/115 million dollar extension recently.
The Cavs might not think that Osman has as much potential as Brown, but they had almost identical stat lines last year, in fact, Osman’s stats were actually a bit better. Cleveland got a steal in my opinion, which is why I was so surprised to see the details of this deal.
The fan favorite, Cedi Osman will be in Cleveland for a while longer on a team-friendly deal. The last year of his extension isn’t guaranteed. It seems as though Osman is the forward of the future for Cleveland, for years to come.
