Week eight of the NFL season will feature the Green Bay Packers vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. Green Bay comes into the game 6-1, where Aaron Rodgers shredded the Oakland Raiders defense. He completed 25-31, for 429 yards, and five touchdowns, good for a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating. That was all while missing his number one receiver Davante Adams. The ground game wasn’t as efficient, finishing with 60 yards on 20 rushes. The Packers will be looking to get the ground game rolling vs. the Chiefs, who rank 29th in rushing yards allowed per game, and 30th in yards per carrying allowed.

The Kansas City Chiefs enter the game 5-2, after blowing out the Denver Broncos 30-6. Although they won big, there was very little celebrating, as quarterback Patrick Mahomes dislocated his knee cap in the second quarter. It isn’t expected to be a long term injury, but he will miss anywhere from one to four games. The Chiefs are averaging only 82 rushing yards/game, which puts them at 25th in the league. Andy Reid will need to get creative with his play selection in order for their offense to move the ball.
Three Keys To Victory For The Packers
Keeping The Chiefs Receivers In Front Of The Corners

Kansas City might not have Mahomes to chuck the ball deep, but backup Matt Moore is a competent quarterback, and these speedy receivers don’t need much time to blow by you. Tyreek Hill (4.28 40 yard dash) and Mecole Hardman (4.33 40 yard dash) are two of the fastest receivers in the league. Staying with them and keeping them in front will help limit big plays.
Stopping The Chiefs Running Game

Although they only average 82 rushing yards per game, Green Bay has been very generous to opposing teams running backs. Oakland running backs went off for 155 yards versus the Packers last week and helped them stay in the game the first half. If the Packers can stop the run, they will make life very difficult for quarterback Matt Moore.
Get Pressure On The Quarterback

The Packers have been excellent at getting pressure all season, compiling 18 sacks through the first six games. Against Oakland, however, they were not able to get any, which gave Derek Carr a lot of time to throw. They will hope to get back on track, versus an offensive line that has surrendered six sacks over the last three games.
Prediction

Although this is a home game for Kansas City, Packer fans do travel very well to support their team. Aaron Rodgers, in primetime, versus a weak defense is a recipe for victory. Green Bay will come in trying to establish the run, which they should be able to because teams are averaging 5.0 yards per rush against them. Rodgers should have no problems against their poor secondary either. Packers will improve to 7-1 after a 31-16 victory.
