Since the day Kirby Dach was drafted, he was 3rd overall in the 2019 NHL Draft, Blackhawks fans have hoped that they would be able to see him play full-time in the NHL.
Since the day he was drafted, he wanted to prove to everyone that he belonged in the NHL full-time
As of Wednesday October 30th, 2019, Coach Jeremy Colliton announced that #3 overall pick Kirby Dach will be in the NHL for the rest of the year.
Which is very exciting news for Blackhawks fans.
With Kirby Dach staying passed the 9 game mark, His entry-level contract with the Blackhawks kicks in this season.
10 days ago, Dach made his official NHL debut against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
In 6 games, Dach has 1 point and 1 assists and he’s been averaging about 12 minutes of ice time per game.
Kirby Dach scored his first career NHL goal against Marc-Andre Fleury and the Vegas Golden Knights.
In 6 games, Dach has impressed Blackhawks fans as well as coach Jeremy Colliton.
He’s fast on the ice, and also showcase that he’s becoming more comfortable with the pace of play in the NHL.
Coach Jeremy Colliton told the media “Stan and I sat down with him yesterday and told him that he’ll be here the rest of the year.” also had said that “He’s played well, He’s shown that he can help us and he’s only going to get better as time comes.”
My opinion on Kirby Dach
In six games, I’ve been very impressed with him. He’s fast, He’s physical and he shots the puck on the net.
Since he does only average about 12 minutes per game, I’d like to see him play on the powerplay unit, Maybe the 1st unit or the 2nd unit.
The Blackhawks would like to see him play about 12-14 minutes per game but that’ll come with time.
I’m excited to watch him for the rest of the year and cannot wait to see what he brings to this team in the future.
