Man Down: Trae Young suffers ankle injury

Trae Young suffered a right ankle sprain in Tuesday night’s battle with the Miami Heat. Mid-way through the second quarter, Young landed awkwardly on his right ankle and had to be helped off the court by the trainers. He appeared not to be able to put much pressure on his ankle. His status going forward is day-today, but the Hawks plan to be cautious with their young star. Fortunately, for the Hawks, there has been an improvement on his ankle, and Young could return as early as Tuesday night.

After dropping to a 2-2 record, the Hawks will have their first taste of adversity. The Hawks will have to figure out how to run an efficient offense without their best offensive player. Not to mention they have a west coast road trip looming on the schedule. In the meantime, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter, and Cam Reddish will all have to contribute more than they’ve done throughout the first four games. It’s time for the young guys to grow. Who knows, maybe Trae Young’s ankle sprain will create the perfect opportunity for one of the players. The glass is always half full, never half empty.
