Smackdown Review: 11/08/19

Corbin:

“Survivor Series is two weeks away, and for the first time ever, the battle of brand supremacy will take place"

“Raw vs Smackdown vs NXT"

" The WWE Universe is only talking about NXT, and I blame one person, Roman Reigns!"

Corbin is trying to motivate Roman, even saying that his bark now sounds like a Chihuahua"s.

“Roman is no longer man enough to come out here and stand face to face"

“I forgot guys, he is not here tonight! Again!….. Yet…"

“You will all, bend the knee, to your king, when I beat him later tonight"

Comments

The promo initially started as Corbin trying to motivate and hype up Roman

Trying to get him to become the old Reigns and join him for Survivor Series

But it ended up with Corbin challenging Roman, and I am guessing that will be the main event

Oh well,

It also looks like Tyson Fury will be here tonight, I guess he is not done with WWE just yet.

Smackdown Tag Team Titles Match

They better not have the Revival lose the titles and miss out on that amazing match at Survivor Series

• 

Match begins with Kofi Kingston trying to roll up Dawson and get the quick win.

However, Dawson gets the upper hand and tags in Wilder, but he starts favoring his leg

The ref goes to check on him, and we go to commercial break, wondering if he can continue in the match

Commercial break

Back from break and Big E connects a Belly to Belly on Wilder, and both men are down

Seems Wilder was only faking the injury to gain the advantage, classic Revival!

Kofi with the hot tag, and he takes both Wilder and Dawson out

Both roll out of the ring, and Kingston flies over the ropes onto them, he gets Scott back in the ring

Climbs the top rope, and takes him out, he is calling for his finisher and

Trouble in Paradise attempt, but he misses, and a superplex by Dawson and a

Top rope splash by Wilder, 1, 2, nooo

Big E comes in the ring, he takes out Dawson, but Wilder connects a tornado ddt to take him out

Kingston takes advantage of this, and hits the S.O.S, but can only get a two count.

Tag to Big E, they are going for the Midnight Express, but Dawson takes Kofi out

Quick tag without Big E noticing, and the Revival connects with a double team DDT and

They follow up with an uppercut-Suplex combo, 1, 2, nooo

Shatter machine attempt, but a blind tag to Kofi, who comes in and hits the Trouble in Paradise, and

We have new Smackdown tag team champions

Decent match, with lots of tag team combo moves

Love that fake an injury heel move from the Revival to start the match, but I

Did not enjoy the ending, The Revival would have been the best option to represent Smackdown

I guess we now get New Day vs Undisputed Era vs Viking Raiders

Doesn"t really have that NXT feeling anymore, does it?

Backstage Segment

Sami Zayn approaches Daniel Bryan to remind him of the invitation that they offered him

I am glad, they are bringing this back, can you imagine a faction of Zayn, Bryan and Nakamura

They could become one of the greatest of all time, those three? wow!!

Smackdown turns blue color solid

And before this match can begin, Imperium is here! and they are taking Heavy Machinery out

Here come the Smackdown locker room! and Imperium has to back off

They mentioned that Imperium comes from NXT UK, does this mean, they are joining in on the fun?

NXT UK vs NXT vs Smackdown vs RAW? Now that would be even more incredible

I hope we get more information on this soon

Imperium could very well represent the men"s team for NXT UK.

Though, I would love for Walter to join the champions match

New Smackdown faction in the making?

Cesaro is aligning himself with Zayn and Nakamura tonight, so much fire power!

Can you believe what could happen if Cesaro and Daniel Bryan join this team? WOW!

Looks like the match will be Cesaro and Nakamura vs Chad Gable and Ali

Bell rings and Cesaro connects with a quick uppercut to take Gable out, but he

(Daniel Bryan has come out to get a closer look)

quickly tags in Ali, who uses his high flying style to take out Cesaro, including a

Roll-up bronco buster for a two count!

Gable suplexes Nakamura to the outside, and Cesaro uppercuts him and he goes through the ropes,

The distraction allows Ali to throw Cesaro to the outside, and he flies and takes him out!

Ali to the top rope with a cross-body, but he gets caught and a back breaker for a two count!

Gable interferes and locks in the ankle lock, but the distraction allows a

Reverse exploder by Nakamura on Ali and he goes for Kinshasa, but he gets a super kick counter and

Is going to the top rope, but Sami Zayn creates a distraction that allows Cesaro to knock him down and

Nakamura with the Kinshasa and this match is over!

Daniel Bryan just stares at Zayn, Nakamura and Cesaro, and walks away

I really hope he joins this team, and they fully confirm that Cesaro has joined the faction as well.

The match was ok, just what you expected,

A set up so the new potential faction looks super strong

Again, can you imagine a Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Nakamura and Sami Zayn faction?

The sky is the limit for that team!

Sasha Banks vs Nikki Cross

Looks like Sasha Banks has a new remix entrance by Snoop, nice!

Match starts with a very aggressive Sasha Banks, going after Nikki with several strikes

The Boss continues her aggressiveness by connecting a suplex, a double knee drop, slaps, kicks, but

Nikki reverses her momentum with a leg scissors and several takedowns! and throws Sasha to the outside

On the outside she lands a cross-body onto Banks and then proceeds to take out Bayley!

Back in the ring and Cross lands a quick cross-body for a two count and Sasha has to re-group

Commercial Break

We come back from break and Sasha lands a double knee drop from the top rope for a two count

However, Nikki counters with a tornado DDT and both women are down, but Cross

Is now fired up! She takes out Banks with several clotheslines, and splashes her in the corner

Running Bulldog! and Cross is going to the top, and another cross-body, but

• 

It is reversed into the bank statement, but that is countered into a roll-up

Nikki is going for the swinging neck breaker but counter by Sasha

The Backstabber and it transitions into the Banks Statement and this one is over!

Post-match & comments

Bayley goes after Cross, and starts taking her out, but Shayna Baszler is here!

She is here! We get NXT Chants!

Shayna is taking out Bayley, and Sasha tries to make the save but it is to late!

As Baszler is already retreating through the crowd!

That match is going to be off the charts!

Backstage segment:

Zayn and Bryan are talking about the match, that Daniel should have celebrated with them

Sami is asking for a decision, but the lights kind of go out

And now they do, and The Fiend is here!

He is taking out Bryan

What is he doing here? Mandible Claw on Daniel and we go to break

So good to see Sasha get a victory on tv

I am still bummed out that she can no longer challenge for the title at the moment

The post match beatdown was weird, as Sasha did not help out, but

I guess it was set up that way so Shayna could attack Bayley

I love this NXT run-ins, gives the show so much more.

The backstage segment was good, I really wanted Bryan to say, “Yes, I will join you"

But seeing The Fiend is always a pleasure, what is going to happen now?

Daniel Bryan vs The Fiend? Yes please!

Tyson Fury comes home!

He is the hometown hero, so it might be the reason why he is here!

Fury:

" I"ve been fighting people all over the world, but there is no place like home"

" I don"t like unfinished business, and I still have some here on the WWE"

Braun Strowman"s music hits!

Braun: “Here is the kicker, I don"t think there are two dudes dumb enough to face us"

The B-team music hits!

Axel: “Hey morons, we are stupid enough to fight you"

Bo: “The B stands for fearless, and we are not scared of those hands"

Braun knocks them down, and he is doing the freight train takedown thing

He sends Bo in the ring, and Tyson Ko"s him. Axel gets the power slam and that is all

Michael Cole says he wants to sign up to see this tag team, I say, no thanks

They really have no clue what to do with Braun

He was the hottest thing when he took out Roman, and after that, nada!

But heck, as long as he is not destroying Gulak, I"m fine with these segments.

Fire & Desire vs Brooke & Mella on Smackdown

This match was supposed to happen last week, but they got taken out by Bianca and the NXT women

• 

The winning team, will join Sasha Banks in the Smackdown Survivor Series team

That does not make any sense, why doesn"t Sasha get to pick her own team?

Fire & Desire start the match with full control over Carmella, Sonya even lands a huge super kick for a two count.

After breaking up a submission hold, Carmella tags in Dana, who comes in with the hot tag

She clotheslines and hits a bulldog and a cartwheel flip on Sonya, but Mandy breaks up the pin.

Carmella interferes, and takes out Sonya, and Dana connects with a dropkick onto the steel steps

Dana goes to the top rope, senton and they join Team Smackdown at Survivor Series.

Post Match & Comments

This was a super fast match, and Dana looked somewhat impressive

I guess seeing Dana Brooke on a ppv is a good option, at least it"s something new.

Don"t really understand why Banks can"t pick her own team, but oh well.

If there was a woman in this match I would have picked, it was Sonya.

She needs to be pushed, and stop being booked in a tag team

Smackdown Main Event: Roman vs King Corbin

• 

Before the bell rings, Roman attacks Corbin, and knocks him to the outside

Reigns starts slamming Corbin around the ring, using the announcer table and the barricade.

Back in the ring, Roman is doing his ten punches in the corner, but Corbin counters and lands some of his own.

Counter by the Big Dog who connects with ten forearms and a big boot on Corbin, who rolls to the outside

Reigns is calling for the superman punch, and here comes Roode and Ziggler

Corbin tries to take advantage of the distraction and connects with the deep six

Commercial break

King Corbin takes out Reigns with a big right hand, while Ziggler and Roode look on.

The king sends Roman to the outside, distracts the ref, and Dolph and Robert take him out.

Back in the ring, Roman tries to counter, but gets a huge clothesline from the king for a two count.

Reigns is finally able to fight back, and both competitors start exchanging strikes.

Corbin misses a splash in the corner and Roman has an opening, but another counter, and

He gets taken out by a chokeslam!

Baron gets cocky and this opens a window for Roman, who connects with a flying forearm for a two count.

The big dog is firing up the superman punch, but Roode and Ziggler interfere

They both get taken out, but this allows Corbin to hit the End of Days and this match is over

Post Match & Comments

Decent match, with implications that Roman might be left off the Smackdown Survivor Series team

The show was ok, nothing spectacular last like week

Lots of short matches and promos that took away from the show.

Loved that Imperium invaded and they were referred to as NXT UK.

Makes you wonder if they will join in on the fun, I hope they do.

Shayna made an appearance, and I am all for that. I guess it"s time for Becky and Bayley to fight back.

I am interested in the Daniel Bryan storyline, and I hope Cesaro and him join and create an elite faction.

Nothing else happened to get excited about. Specially the titles being taken away from the Revival

We had a dream match of The Revival vs Viking Raiders vs Undisputed Era, and now

The New day gets to take their place in the match? What a way to blow it.
