In part 2 of this 5 part series, i am going to be looking at the Top 25 New York Rangers of the decade. Today is numbers 20-16

#20 Cam Talbot

Cam Talbot joined the Rangers as an undrafted free agent on March 30, 2010. He played in the AHL for a few years and finally got his NHL chance in 2013-14. He posted an outstanding .941 save percentage in 21 games played. In 2014-15 he was the team’s backup, posting a .926 save percentage in 36 games. That offseason, in a salary cap move, the team traded Talbot and a 7th round pick to Edmonton for 3 draft picks including the pick used to select Adam Huska.

#19 Pavel Buchnevich

Pavel Buchnevich was a 3rd round pick of the New York Rangers in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. After putting good numbers in the KHL he was called up in 2016-17 and has posted 126 points in 224 games at the time of this article. While Buchnevich has never been the best point producer, his talent on the ice has always been appreciated.

#18 Michael Del Zotto

After having a very successful OHL career with the Oshawa Generals and London Knights, Michael Del Zotto was a first round pick by the Rangers in 2008. Del Zotto made the jump to the NHL level in 2009-10. Del Zotto posted 121 points in his 4 1/2 seasons with the Blue-shirts. He was also a very important piece in the team’s 2012 playoff run. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end as Del Zotto was traded to Nashville for Kevin Klein on January 22nd 2014. After jumping around the league for a while, Del Zotto currently plays for the Anaheim Ducks.

#17 Carl Hagelin

Carl Hagelin was a late round pick in 2007 after playing in Sweden. Hagelin played in college and the AHL until joining the Rangers in 2011-12 and putting up decent numbers. During Hagelin’s tenure with the Rangers he posted 130 points in 266 games until he was traded to Anaheim on June 27, 2015 in a trade involving picks and Emerson Etem. Hagelin has played in Pittsburgh where he won two cups in 2016 and 2017 and currently plays for the Washington Capitals.

#16 Jesper Fast

Jesper Fast was another late round pick of the New York Rangers in 2010. After playing in the SHL and AHL, Fast joined the Rangers for their playoff run in 2013-14. Fast has never been the Franchise player for the team, posting 139 points in 399 games as of this article.

As the Top 25 New York Rangers of the Decade series continues, the next article will be looking at numbers 15-11.
