Philadelphia 76ers:
James Ennis Trade Grades:
Receive: Second round pick
Grade: B+
This move comes directly in response to the 76ers acquiring Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks from Golden State. That deal forced the 76ers to have to get rid of two players, through trades and waiving guys. Ennis was the first of two to go, after he had fallen out of the rotation in favor of Furkan Korkmaz this season. Philadelphia had to move someone, and getting back a second-round pick out of it isn’t terrible.
Orlando Magic
Receive: James Ennis III
I really love this deal for the Orlando Magic. The team has struggled with shooting and bench production; Ennis helps provide both. Not to mention, Ennis is cheap, and has 2.0M player-option for next season. He’s currently putting up 5.8 ppg and 3.1 rpg on 44.2% from the field this season. Giving up just a second round pick for someone who helps the bench is worth it for Orlando.
Grade: A
