Vincent Trocheck is under contract through the 2021-2022 season and has had good season so far. Currently on a 54 point pace, the tough forward is going to be a welcomed addition the the top six in Carolina. After being traded, Vincent Trocheck could be lining up alongside Martin Necas and Nino Niederreiter.
Vincent Trocheck Traded to the Hurricanes
This morning, the Florida Panthers traded Vincent Trocheck to the Carolina Hurricanes for Erik Haula, Lucas Wallmark, Chase Priskie and Eetu Luostarinen.
Coming back to Florida, Haula and Wallmark should slot into the middle six center roles. Haula likely with Mike Hoffman and Evgenii Dadonov, taking over the Trocheck role. Priskie, a former sixth-round pick, is a big defender that has seen some success in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers. Signed through next season, Priskie will probably be sent to Springfield. Luostarinen is a 21-year-old Finnish center, who had some success in Liiga before making the jump to the AHL. He did have a small taste of NHL action earlier this year, where he totaled 1 assist through eight games. He will be sent to Springfield as well.
Overall, it looks to be a good trade for Carolina. Not sure what the Panthers have in mind with this deal, it seems like they downgraded down the middle of their lineup. Both teams could still be active for the next few hours. They could use more help to solidify their teams going into the playoffs.
