UFC Brasilia Recap and Future Predictions

UFC Brasilia was a special card but for the wrong reasons. This is the first UFC card that has been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in turn, was held with no audience in the Nilson Nelson Stadium in Brasilia, Brazil. The last time the UFC was in Brasilia, Brazil was back in 2016, when it was headlined by Cris Cyborg and Lina Lansberg.

Although Francisco Trinaldo did not hear the roar of the crowd chanting his name during the fight, that did not stop the Brazilian from putting on a dominating showing against John Makdessi, ending Makdessi’s 3-fight win streak. Trinaldo went on to win the bout via Unanimous Decision with the judges scoring the bout 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28. So what’s next?

Nikita Krylov Grinds Out a Decision Win Over Johnny Walker

The Ukrainian Nikita Krylov put on a dominant performance against the sporadic Johnny Walker. By using his wrestling and grappling, he was able to dominate Walker to grind out a decision win, with the judging scoring the cards 30-27, 29-28, and 29-28 and in turn extended Walkers losing streak to 2.

Renato Moicano Submits Damir Hadžović With a Lighting-Quick Rear-Naked Choke

Renato Moicano took little time to finish his bout tonight against Damir Hadžović, finishing him within 44 seconds with a rear-naked choke. He put an end to his 2 loss streak and extended Hadžović’s losing streaking to 2.

Gilbert Burns TKO’s Veteran Demian Maia

Gilbert Burns had a rough start in the first round against his fellow countryman Demian Maia. After getting taken down twice, Burns cracked Maia with a hard left hand to send him into the canvas and followed with hammerfists to prompt the referee to jump in and stop the fight. This extends Burns’ win streak to 5 and ends Maia’s streak of 3.

Charles Oliveira Finishes Kevin Lee via Submission

Although Kevin Lee missed weight, Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira put on an impressive performance against Kevin Lee. The Brazilian put on a show against Lee and won via guillotine middle of the 3rd round to extend his win streak to 7. What’s next for Do Bronx and the Motown Phenom?
