The Browns are making Austin Hooper the highest-paid tight end in football according to multiple reports. What does this mean for David Njoku? Will the browns look to trade him? Kevin Stefanski has used double tight ends a lot in his scheme. Hooper was one of the prizes of free agency, and the Browns went hard to get him.
Browns Make Austin Hooper Highest-Paid Tight End
Reminder that #Browns coach Kevin Stefanski employed two-plus tight ends more than any team in the NFL last season with the #Vikings.
Austin Hooper + David Njoku can coexist in Cleveland.https://t.co/CPDHqP434B https://t.co/R3N5L00G8Z

Austin Hooper, Tight End

Hooper is 25 years old and coming off his career-best season. In 13 games, ten starts, he put up 75 catches for 787 yards and six touchdowns. One question Browns fans may have is if Hooper can stay healthy as the starter for a full season. Last year was the first time he has started more than eight games in a season, and he was injured for three. There is no questioning the talent when he is on the field. Combing him with Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, and Kareem hunt gives the Browns the most dangerous skill weapons in the NFL. Baker Mayfield will have ZERO excuses next season as Stefanski seems well prepared, and the weapons are outrageous now.
The Browns still need a lineman and the tag is getting higher and higher as more come off the board. Is Jack Conklin still in sight? Or maybe they go Bryan Bulaga? Stay tuned the day is only beginning.
Update: According to Vaughn McClure who covers the Falcons the deal is for Four-years, $44M deal with $23M guaranteed
