After playing the first 16 years of his career for the Chargers, Philip Rivers has found a new home. He is joining the Indianapolis Colts on a one-year deal worth $25 million.
Philip Rivers Signs With Colts
The Chargers have failed to provide Rivers with a solid offensive line, and that has caused his production to drop. They had weapons at skill positions, but he had no time to throw them the ball. The Colts have one of the best offensive lines in the league, which makes the team more attractive to an older pocket passing quarterback such as Rivers.
Rivers is nearing the end of his career and may be used as a mentor to Jacoby Brissett if they don’t feel like he is the answer. The Colts are clearly in win-now mode after trading the 13th overall pick for DeForest Buckner on Monday.
This is likely to be Philip Rivers’ last run at a Super Bowl. Great organization and team to do that with.
