What Has Teddy Bridgewater Done?

Bridgewater wins games but is he a game-changer. As a rookie quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, he went 6-6. Since then his record increased to 22-12 and kept the New Orleans Saints playoff hopes alive. He has always been a winner in the textbook definition but has he had enough around him to win those games.

Teddy Bridgewater as of now does not have the tools to win a Super Bowl. With a depleted defense and not having a solid wide receiver option, it will be hard to think he can get the Panthers to the playoffs. He won with the Saints last season due to the fact they have a top ten defense and they have a plethora of weapons. He won in Minnesota due to having the number 1 scoring defense at the time and he didn’t have to put up spectacular numbers.

The Contract

The contract for Bridgewater looks to be right. He is making about $21 million a season which is middle-ground. The Carolina Panthers did a great job in realizing this won’t be a long term decision. A three-year deal will give the Panthers options. There is a good possibility the Panthers will be selecting a quarterback in the 2021 draft if things don’t work out. This whole team looks like a temporary fix to the rebuild that’s soon to come.
