We all know Patrick Beverley as the hard nosed grit N’ grind Clippers, and lockdown defender he is today. The rest of his game is severely underrated. This article will show you why Beverley is more important to the Clippers than you think.
Clippers Need Patrick Beverley More Than You Think

Important Piece in Clippers Shooting
Beverley can lockdown your favorite point guard, then go to the other end of the hardwood and knock down a three pointer. Pat has a 37.9 3p%, and is top 85 in 3p% among the whole league. He has a better 3 point percentage then guys like Devonte’ Graham (three point contest contestant), Danny Green, Kemba Walker, and Kevin Love (see the full list here). Bev has shown us when he is hot, he is hot. In Beverley’s most recent game vs the Warriors he had 15 points. Most of his points coming from a 4 three pointer hot streak.
Lockdown Defense
What more can you say about Beverley’s defense that has not been said already? Top 50 in steals per game, top 35 in defensive rating, and top 15 in blocks per game among guards. Pat has had so many clutch defensive moments too. Who can forget his Christmas Day block against LeBron James? Or on 11/7/19, he got a block vs star point guard Damian Lillard, to prevent the Blazers from taking a one point lead with 1 minute left.
Center Like Rebounding
Rebounding is Pat’s most underrated part of his game. He is averaging about 5 rpg. That would put him in the top 5 in rebounders among guards. This stat is even more impressive considering Bev is only 6’1, the shortest player on his team. You’ll often see Beverley sprinting into traffic to grab a missed free throw, or jumping over the centers and pulling down a rebound.
Bev has shown that is can do it all. He has such a will to win, it seems it’s impossible for him to lose. All in all, he is a key ingredient in the his teams success.
