When the number 31 comes up with the Indiana Pacers.. Your first thought is usually of the great NBA Hall of Famer Reggie Miller. This time it is for an extending the NBA’s longest active streak of 31 straight seasons of a winning record at home. The season for the Indiana Pacers, if it unfortunately ends this way. Will be looked at as another consistent successful year. Currently, we sit in 5th place in the East at 39-26 and in the last 10, the Pacers are the hottest team in the East at 7-3.

31 Seasons of Success

Duo of Oladipo and Sabonis
This duo will always be linked as they were the pieces in the trade of Paul George. Victor Oladipo the hometown hero from his days at Indiana University, returned from his horrific injury this year. Hopefully, during the time off he will be able to get back his explosiveness.
Domantas Sabonis made the leap this year. He was the Pacers lone All Star and his first time being named an All Star. Sabonis was 3rd in the NBA in double doubles with 50. He also added 4 triple doubles. He was 5th in Rebounds per game at 12.4 and was 2nd in scoring for the Pacers by the slimmest of margins as he scored 18.5 per game and T.J. Warren led the Pacers with 18.7. Both Oladipo and Sabonis are under contract for next season and hopefully can reach a long term deal with Oladipo.
Injury Setbacks
How the Pacers managed to keep it together, with the amount of injuries is an impressive feat. Oladipo missed the first 47 games, Malcolm Brogdon missed 14 games throughout the season. Jeremy Lamb tore his ACL and the timing of it, he will most likely be out all next season. This team battled and was hitting it’s stride, but unfortunately we will not see the outcome.
Pacers Going Forward
The future is bright for the Pacers as the core of the team is young. Keeping the streak of 31 straight home winning seasons is awesome and is a testament of the home crowd and the amount of effort the Pacers always put on the court. Our front office refuses to tank and always strives to put the best team on the floor.
