The sky judge is dead! That is what NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is saying ahead of the virtual league meetings that will be held today. Owners are expected to pass a proposal for a fourth-and-15 onside kick alternative.
The Sky Proposal Is Dead!

The Sky Judge Is Out!
The reason for this proposal failing to move forward is because there are questions on how much power the official should have during games. The competition committee supports further analysis.
Expected Rule Changes
The league is still expected to test out an expanded booth-to-official communication system in the upcoming preseason. No officiating personnel will be added during the regular season.
Rule 19 second 2 is of the NFL rulebook is planning to be amended by the Baltimore Ravens and the Los Angeles Chargers. Rule one was to add a booth umpire as an eighth game official during the game. The second was to add a senior technology advisor to the referee to assist the officiating crew.
When IS the Vote
With the proposed addition of the sky judge now dead, NFL owners will vote on other proposals during Thursday’s virtual meeting, with each proposal needing a 75 percent (24) vote from the owners to be adopted.
