Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers have signed small forward Ryan Broekhoff. This move comes as a result of the team having an empty spot on their roster. He also becomes the second Australian native player on the team, along with Ben Simmons.
Philadelphia 76ers Sign Ryan Broekhoff

Broekhoff has spent the last two seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 4.0 ppg in 10.7 mpg across 59 games. Broekhoff showed some signs of potential in 2018-19 but was slowed down by injury this year, as he struggled.
While Broekhoff doesn’t take this team over the top, he’ll be another forward in Brett Brown’s rotation. His most significant strength is his ability to shoot; he’s shot 40.3% from three these past two seasons, and it’s no secret that the 76ers could use more shooting.
The reality of this signing is that Broekhoff won’t have a major impact on the 76ers, at least for the rest of this season. Considering he hasn’t had any time to play under Brett Brown, and the 76ers have a lot of small forward depth, Broekhoff may have difficulty seeing the floor. However, it will be interesting to see what he can provide for this team.
