Sean Strickland: ‘If I Had a Gay Son I Would Think I Failed as a Man’

One fan asked Strickland if he would rather have a “gay son or a thot daughter.” Strickland responded by posting, “If I had a gay son I would think I failed as a man to create such weakness….. If I had a whore for a daughter I’d think she just wanted to be like her dad lol!!”

Many of Strickland’s followers were quick to criticize the comments. Strickland responded to the backlash but more or less doubled down on his initial post.

“LISTEN  gay men are great, I support them and their choices. freedom! Gay guys have it made. Most gay guys I know are always happy. They all just get to hang with buddies all day and have sex.. us straight men, we’re f*cked… we gotta do some serious work to get laid. Not fair”

This is far from the first time Strickland has made comments about the LGBTQ community.

While Strickland has grown a following as a result of his unfiltered commentary on Twitter, alienating an entire class of people by suggesting their sexual preference makes them “weak” may not be the best way to promote yourself. 

In November, Strickland posted a video of a road rage incident he was part of. Luckily the situation did not escalate beyond words, but Strickland is known for his desire to get into fights outside of the Octagon. 

Strickland even threw his name into the Jake Paul lottery.

“Jake Paul you offer me 5 MILLION to fight you, f*ck we can fly to a deserted island in international water and fight to the death on YouTube for that kind of money… bare-knuckle, gloves, knives, clubs…. lol! Let’s f*cking go.. @GamebredFighter.”

After other controversial comments including his desire to be the first person to kill a man inside the Octagon, one has to wonder how far will finally be too far.
