This move is a really good move for Philadelphia. The Phillies needed a good addition to the lineup and Schwarber was one of the guys they had on their radar for the entire offseason. Now that there is a designated hitter in the National League, we can now see Schwarber"s true talents shine. He is known as a left-handed power bat, which is what the Phillies needed. Philadelphia has some players in their starting lineup that bat left-handed, most notably being, Bryce Harper, Didi Gregorius, and Odubel Herrera. Schwarber will have the ability to slide right into the lineup in a ballpark where he can have a lot of success. In addition, due to his success as a leadoff hitter, the Phillies can utilize that and have him batting leadoff.

This is a lineup that can look very interesting come opening day, Schwarber could lead off, followed by Jean Segura and Bryce Harper in the three-hole. If the Phillies can make a few more additions to the lineup and the bench this could be a dangerous lineup coming into the 2022 MLB season.
