“In a world full of Cara Delevingnes be a Sam Ryder”. Twitter users slammed the super model and Hollywood actress for snubbing motorsports legend Matin Brundle at the British Grand Prix. They also pointed to the warm behavior of singer Sam Ryder, who greeted Brundle with a warm hug.
Brundle, 64, is a former racing driver and, currently, a broadcaster with Sky Sports in the UK. He was covering live action from Silverstone when the model snubbed his request for a chat. On the other hand, Ryder called him a “legend”.

The 30-year-old was on the grid for the race after being given a VIP pass. Before the race started, Brundle was keen to have a chat, saying: “that’s the deal now, everybody talks on the grid”, to which Cara responded: “I can’t hear anything, sorry”.
Before trying his luck with Delevingne, former racer-turned-broadcaster spoke to stars like Brad Pitt, Pep Guardiola, Florence Pugh, Sam Ryder and Liam Payne.
Some Twitter users pointed out the contrast between Cara and Ryder. “Sam Ryder there being everything a celeb on an F1 grid should be, rather than everything Cara Delevingne wasn’t”, wrote a fan.
A few people defended the model, saying “worth taking a step back sometimes and realising there could be other factors at play rather than just cancelling everyone”.
A few hours later, Brundle replied with more than a hint of sarcasm. “Okay, well, I’m sure it would have been extremely interesting”.
Cara Delevigne also took to Twitter to give her say on the incident.
“I was told to say no so I did. Thank you for seeing both sides.” Then, she added: “anyway, I had so much fun today and was so happy to be there no matter what anyone else may think.”
Ex-F1 driver Karun Chandhok, who competed in the elite motorsports race between 2010-2011, insisted that grid passes ‘need to be removed’ from people that don’t care about the sport.
“Next time, take the grid passes from people who don’t care and give it some deserving kids who will treasure the experience.”
