Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama said, after his second game in the Summer League, during the rest of offseason, he’s going to “disappear from the media”. But why?
Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick from the 2023 NBA Draft, dropped 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks across 27 minutes in his second game of the NBA Summer League. However, when he was speaking to the media, after the game, he admitted that he’s looking to stay away from the spotlight for the rest of the offseason.
“In the past month, I think basketball wasn’t even 50% of my schedule. I can’t stand it. I know it’s a special moment in my life, but I’m glad it’s over … I just wanna hoop,” said Victor, via Tomer Azarly.

Wemby, as he is also called, has been considered the most talented NBA prospect since LeBron James, who joined the NBA in 2003. So, it’s no surprise that the media is following every move the player makes.
Wembanyama recently was involved in an incident with the popstar Britney Spears, which only increased the media scrutiny around the young player.
