Federico Valverde: Why it would be a massive mistake to sell Uruguay international to Premier League giants

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have all reportedly asked Real Madrid whether Federico Valverde could be made available for transfer this summer.

The Uruguay international is being sought after by the Premier League following Jude Bellingham’s big-money move to Spain. The England international midfielder joined Los Blancos in a €103m ($113m) move from Borussia Dortmund.

However, a report from Brahian Kuchman claims that Real Madrid are not interested in selling the 24-year-old Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde, despite interest from Premier League clubs such as Liverpool.

Apparently, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti considers the midfielder non-transferable. Valverde has been a constant presence for Ancelotti over the past two seasons and has played various roles for his coach according to the team’s needs.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the player and has also wanted to sign the Uruguayan in the past. Valverde has been an important player for Real Madrid in recent seasons, and his ability to perform at a high level in various roles makes him an indispensable asset for the club.

The English team are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements, and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in the necessary additions. There is no doubt that he would have been a quality signing for the club and could have improved Liverpool immensely. The South American midfielder can play as a central midfielder as well as a winger.

For Real Madrid, it would be a big loss – especially given Valverde’s qualities and characteristics. The player adds and offers several options to the Spanish squad, since he can play in several areas of the field, functioning as a key player for Carlo Ancelotti. Valverde also scored two goals in their pre-season game against AC Milan at the Rose Bowl Sunday.
Therefore, it can be expected that Real Madrid will not release the player to any other team – or at least will make the deal as difficult as possible.
