NFL Pup List: Updates on missing players as summer practice sessions go into full swing

A huge number of important players are not suiting up to start the summer in NFL’s 2023 pre-season. Recently, some of them have been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP).

Players on PUP count against 90-man offseason rosters during training camp, although they can be activated to practice at any point prior to the season.

Take a look at some of the most notable names on PUP to open 2023 training camp:

2023 NFL Pup List

Baltimore Ravens

RB J.K. Dobbins (knee): Dobbins is recovering from knee surgery with tentative plans to open the year as RB1. In the meantime, the Ravens added veteran Melvin Gordon.

Chicago Bears

WR Chase Claypool (undisclosed): He missed most of the spring with apparent soft-tissue injuries.

Cincinnati Bengals

OT La’el Collins (knee): The former Cowboys starter may be out of a first-team right tackle job. It’s expected that he could still make it a competition before Week 1.

CB Chidobe Awuzie (knee): He missed the second half of 2022 with a torn ACL.

Detroit Lions

CB Emmanuel Moseley (knee): The former 49ers starter is still recovering from an ACL tear that ended his 2022 campaign.

New York Jets

RB Breece Hall (knee): this possible candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022 is also recovering.

WR Randall Cobb (ankle): The former Packers wideout is rehabbing from surgery.

TE C.J. Uzomah (leg): The ex-Bengals starter twisted his leg during OTAs, but isn’t in danger of missing the start of the season.

OT Duane Brown (shoulder): The veteran left tackle suffered a torn rotator cuff last summer and missed five games as a result.
