Joel Embiid married his longtime girlfriend, Anne De Paula, in the Hamptons Saturday. Embiid and De Paula had been together since 2018. They met through a mutual friend and began dating. The two quickly fell in love after some time getting to know each other.

Embiid and De Paula welcomed their first child, Arthur Elijah, in September 2020.

Anne, 28, is a Brazilian model, born in Rio de Janeiro on March 31, 1995. De Paula’s modeling career took off gradually. Her first high-profile job was with Sports Illustrated as a swimsuit model in 2018.

Like Embiid, she is also passionate about soccer and even played the sport as a goalkeeper. That was one of the things in common between the couple, besides the fact that they know French.

Anne De Paula has stood by Joel Embiid through some of his toughest moments in the NBA. That includes the heartbreaking loss against Toronto in Game 7 of the 2019 conference semifinals and the repeated failures to make it past the conference semifinals so far.

In addition, Embiid also had her by his side after finishing runner-up for the MVP award for two consecutive seasons in 2021 and 2022.
