Bronny James, the highly-touted NBA prospect and son of basketball legend LeBron, suffered a cardiac arrest while training at the University of Southern California on Monday.

The 18-year-old point guard was preparing for his first college basketball season but collapsed on the court at the Galen Center. He is in a stable condition and is no longer in intensive care.

“Yesterday, while practicing, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest,” a statement from the family said. “The medical team was able to treat Bronny and get him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and is no longer in ICU.
We ask for respect and privacy from the James family and will update the media when more information becomes available.
LeBron and Savannah (Bronny’s parents) wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”

A call was made to emergency services at 9:26 a.m., according to TMZ Sports. Bronny was unconscious at the Galen Center facility, where the team practices and plays, and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital.
