Man Utd have reached an agreement with Serie A side Atalanta over the signing of striker Rasmus Hojlund; United hope the 20-year-old will be able to take part in pre-season, pending medicals and confirmation of personal terms; the deal for Hojlund is worth an initial £64m, plus £8m in add-ons.
Rasmus Hojlund is expected to arrive in the UK on Tuesday before undergoing medical tests at Manchester United.
The Atalanta striker will sign a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months. Hojlund’s deal has an initial value of £64m, plus £8m in performance-related add-ons. Atalanta entered negotiations wanting £77m guaranteed.
The formal announcement of his signing could come this week.
United hope the deal will be formalized in time for him to take part in one of the team’s remaining pre-season games. They have two games this weekend, against Lens on Saturday and Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
As previously reported by Sky Sports News, the striker’s preferred destination was Old Trafford, so there was no concern over PSG’s interest in the Dane.
The Premier League side received a boost on Saturday when Atalanta signed striker El Bilal Toure from Almeria, while Hojlund was left out of the team that faced Bournemouth in a pre-season friendly.
