Kylian Mbappe is one of the most coveted players in the world at the moment as Paris Saint-Germain are trying to recoup a fee for his signing.
Paris Saint-Germain appear to have hinted on their website that Kylian Mbappe will leave the club this summer. The 24-year-old forward faces an increasingly uncertain future in the French capital at the moment, with his contract at Les Parc des Princes set to expire at the end of next season.
Interestingly, Mbappe has been removed from the first-team page on the club’s website, which features Kang-In Lee, Marco Verratti, Neymar, Marquinhos and Lucas Hernandez. It was widely reported that the France international had previously appeared in the header but, with the possibility of departure, he appears to have been wiped from the graphic.
Earlier this month, Nasser Al-Khelaifi declared that Mbappe has two weeks to sign a new contract with the Parisian side, otherwise he will be sold. Four weeks have passed and he has still not committed his long-term future to PSG – nor has he found a new club.
With Mbappe expected to seek fresh air, either this summer or next, Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign him. According to the Daily Record, Chelsea are trying to negotiate a player-plus-money deal to bring the Frenchman to Stamford Bridge.
The report claims the Parisians have encouraged the west London side’s efforts to secure the striker after direct talks with Todd Boehly over a possible transfer. During the Blues’ pre-season tour of the United States, Mauricio Pochettino was asked if he would like to reunite the striker and Neymar at Chelsea.
“I think in our past we were at Paris Saint Germain and with Kylian and I think I need to be aware that I can’t talk,” the Blues boss said. “Everything you talk about is a lot of noise. It’s a very delicate situation and one they need to resolve in Paris with Kylian.
“As for us, I have nothing to say. We are working in our reality, our reality is different. For my part, I have nothing to say, only to support them. I hope they find a solution for both sides. It’s a club that I love, because I was a player, captain and coach. With Kylian, we created a very good relationship, I hope they can find the best solution for both sides.”
