Did Aaron Rodgers play in Hall of Fame game? How the Jets QBs performed against Browns

Aaron Rodgers didn’t make his debut under center for the New York Jets in their first preseason tilt against the Cleveland Browns, this Thursday. The Jets’ new All-Pro QB didn’t have any of Robert Saleh’s starters.

This means Jets fans will have to wait even longer to see Rodgers in a Jets uniform following this offseason’s blockbuster trade from the Green Bay Packers.

Zach Wilson tooks the reins this preseason as he fights off Tim Boyle and Chris Streveler for the backup slot.

Handed the ball for the first three offensive series for the Jets, Wilson went 3-for-5 for 65 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in a 21-16 Browns win.

“It was really good. I thought he put it right on the money. Zach did a good job. He was poised, looked comfortable in the pocket, delivered the ball on schedule. It was definitely something to build on,” Jets head coach Robert Saleh said after the game.

Thursday’s game saw Kellen Mond start opposite Wilson for the Browns, going 13-for-19 with 92 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.
