The preseason opener on Thursday night saw Texans rookie quarterback, CJ Stroud in a struggle. However, after a slow start, Houston Texans handled the game against the New England Patriots well and won. The score was 20-9.
CJ Stroud, the talented quarterback who is starting his NFL journey threw an interception. Patriots safety, Jalen Mills read Stroud and broke on his third-and-21 pass downfield. Grabbing an interception.

The 2023 NFL Draft’s second overall pick from Ohio State was pulled after two series. He completed 2 of 4 passes for 13 yards. Rushing twice for 6 yards and was once sacked.
On the first play, Stroud had a short dropback. Scanning the field he hit Nico Collins for an 8-yard gain.
Stroud had his second dropback and was also hit for a 15-yard sack when the rookie quarterback could not handle the grasp of Daniel Ekuale.
In the next play, he handled himself well when he spun out of a potential sack, finishing with a 4-yard run. After this came the veteran Mills’ interception.
Stroud rushed a pass under pressure on the second series. Threw too high on a short flare out resulting in an incompletion. Faced with pressure in the next play, Stroud threw a pass which was incomplete.
He then finished had a short completion.
When the Texans got the ball back, Davis Mills took over as the quarterback.
