Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari joked about his longtime friend and former quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ speed in an interview with ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Friday.
When asked about how much different the Packers’ offense will be without Rodgers, specifically around the Packers employing more run-pass option looks with QB Jordan Love, Bakhtiari said, “Because Aaron is slow as s–t.”
“Now we have an athletic quarterback who can move around,” Bakhtiari added.
Bakhtiari and Rodgers are close friends and have been teammates since 2013. Bakhtiari spent his years before 2023 protecting Rodgers from edge rushers and blitzers.
It is clear that Bakhtiari was just joking around with his comment about Rodgers’ speed. The two are still close friends and have a lot of respect for each other.
The Packers are entering a new era with Jordan Love as their starting quarterback. Bakhtiari’s comments suggest that the Packers’ offense may look a little different this season with Love under center. However, it is still too early to say for sure how the offense will change.
