After completing all the necessary paperwork, and medical examinations, Saudi Club AL-Hilal and PSG have finally agreed on a deal to transfer Neymar Jr.
Neymar joined PSG for a world record fee of 222m euros, back in 2017.
Well, Neymar was kept out of the squad for PSG’s recent League 1 draw against Lorient on Saturday, and is not a part of the new season, according to Coach Luis Enrique.
Additionally, it seems that PSG’s strategy of signing high-profile players for huge fees and significant wages was unsuccessful, with exits of Lionel Messi and now Neymar.
With 173 appearances for PSG, Neymar led the club to 13 trophies, including five Ligue 1 titles and the 2020 Champions League finals appearance.
But, his time in PSG was hampered by many injuries.
After being injured in the first group match, Neymar missed two of Brazil’s games at the 2022 World Cup.
He was also out for several weeks in 2021 due to ligaments tears because of which he also missed the 2019 Copa America.
Meanwhile, French forward Kylian Mbappe, was in a contract standoff because of his desire to join Real Madrid.
Reports suggest that he might have extended his contract at PSG, with the current deal expiring next summer.
In a bid to be the top competitions in the world in the next few years, Saudi Clubs have inducted big names such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Jordan Henderson, Ruben Neves, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino. With Ronaldo joining AL-Naassr in January from Manchester United.
According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG will receive around 100m euros for Neymar’s transfer, and Neymar will be paid 160m euros for a two-year contract.
