The San Francisco 49ers had some good news come their way in form of QB Brock Purdy being cleared from the injury list.
‘Mr Relevant’ was cleared for three straight practice’s this week, after recovering from an elbow injury he had suffered in March against the Eagles in the NFC Championship game.
After suffering a complete tear of his ulnar collateral ligament, the QB still re-entered the game after replacement line caller in the game Josh Johnson, was concussed.
The former Iowa State 2-x time All-Big-12 player started 2022 as the back-up to the back-up but after injuries to Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance he had a more than efficient showing, until his injury.
He went on to became the first QB, starting his first game, to defeat a Tom Brady-led team.
After taking the 49ers to a 35-7 win over the Buccaneers in mid-December, he followed that up with a 21-13 win over the Seahawks, to become the second player in NFL history to score a cumulative rating of 115 after two games, equaling the record of Aaron Rodgers.
Well, that is not a bad start to a career.
But then, whether he will start this season is still unclear, but at least he is cleared for action.
