Jordan vs LeBron: Dwyane Wade picks his NBA GOAT

Dwayne Wade was decisive but phlegmatic at the same time when it came to naming the GOAT of the NBA.

Well, he recently made the call on the Greatest Player, and it turned out to be a two-way race between LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

The pair have often dominated this GOAT topic and if anyone is perfectly placed to judge it, is a living legend like Wade, who himself has earned a spot in the top 10 at least on the All-Time list.

Wade is a 3-time NBA winner and 13-time NBA All-Star, and a former teammate of James, starring in 13 seasons at the Miami Heat. These duelling reasons may not tip the scales in one direction for Wade, and he mentioned that it is still too early to decisively decide.

“LeBron is one of my good friends. I have so much respect for what he’s doing now, what he’s done and what he will eventually do, because he’s not done yet,” he said.

For now, the Marquette College alumni believes Jordan tops his list, but is watching James’ numbers closely. He has a point, or at least 35,283 of them, with LeBron currently sitting third on the all-time points in the NBA.

That is still 3,105 short of leader of the pack Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but he could surpass that despite being 36-years young.

He is eighth in all-time assists and seventh all-time in minutes played so he is gaining GOAT status by the year.

Wade believes LeBron is still going strong, but at the moment Jordan is his pick for the greatest of all-time mantle.
