Nine-time MLB All-Star, Justin Verlander has finally responded to the comments that were made by a former unnamed teammate of the New York Mets.
According to Mike Puma of The New York Post, Verlander, a former pitcher for the Mets, was accused of being a “Diva” by an anonymous Mets player.
The three times Cy Young winner is back with Houston Astros after his brief time with the New York Mets, after he was re-obtained by the Astros in a trade deadline deal with the Mets.
With multiple World Series Championships to his name Verlander, took to twitter to clear the issue, and to make it clear that he has no ill will towards the Mets.
In light of the comments, he said “I want to say that I have nothing but respect for the Mets organization and I enjoyed connecting with all of my teammates this season… new and old!! It truly was a wonderful group of people,”
“That being said, we all know the success of a team is made up of more than just the players on the field, everyone’s input is valuable. I’m sorry to hear that a staff member took offense to constructive criticism on how we could improve.
“Wishing nothing but best to the Mets moving forward,”

According to the sources, Verlander’s attitude was causing a rift between him and Max Scherzer, while the duo had their differences currently and historically.
The Mets haven’t enjoyed the same success that they had earlier. They began Saturday with a 4.38 ERA placing them closer to the lower side. Last season, the Mets were eighth in all of baseball with a 3.57-team ERA.
Verlander missed the Opening Day due to a teres major strain. However, the Mets have traded both Verlander and Scherzer in order to reboot the team.
