The Colts are taking all the necessary precautions when it comes to the recovery of running back Jonathan Taylor, who has returned to camp but is still on the injured list.
The Wisconsin alumni struggled with ankle injuries last season, going down to a week 4 loss to the Titans.
He returned to play later in the season but suffered a high ankle sprain in week 15, and right now he is on the active/physically unable to perform list.
Taylor is also reportedly unhappy with his contract talks and the 2020 second-round pick is yet to be offered an extension by the Indianapolis Colts.
Owner Jim Irsay has said he will not trade Taylor and will consider an extension only after the season.
There is no active timeline for his return to play, with Colts GM Chris Bullard told radio, “Last year he got hurt early in the season, was dinged up all year, fought through it until he finally got to the point where he had to have surgery.”
Taylor rehabbed out of state but returned to camp and is now with the team’s medical personnel.
HC Steave Steichen was curt when asked, saying “Going forward, he’s rehabbing and I’m not going to get into specifics. Like I said last week, once he is out here, he’ll be out here.”
He did well when he was on the park last season, with 861 rushing yards, and four touchdowns.
He is not a happy camper though, with the contract blues going foot in boot with his injured ankle.
