A well-placed insider within the NBA has heard the scoop that no team is willing to pay the big bucks for James Harden, which comes as a big blow to the “Beard”.
Harden is desperate to leave the 76ers but the oft-controversial star, who is known to be a bit of a team-hopper, seemingly has no buyers.
There is one team making noise according to analyst and celebrity media personality Bill Simmons and that is the Wizards.
Whether they can conjure up a deal that will prise him away from Philadelphia is anybody’s guess. Long labelled a franchise with a history of taking risks, the Wizards are willing to at least talk.
According to Simmons Chicago have lost all interest and will not trade DeMar DeRozan for the wantaway Bearded One.
According to Harden, 76ers President of Basketball Daryl Morey is an out-and-out liar and this is making life harder for the 10-x NBA All-Star point guard.
Harden burns more bridges than an invading Saxon army and has played similar shenanigans with Nets and the Rockets (also under Morey’s watch).
The Clippers, Harden’s preferred destination are reportedly not keen, leaving only the Wizards as a viable option.
But Morey and the 76ers are not budging having already tabled an offer of $36.5 million for Harden to stay in Philly.
Harden is resolved to leave, at seemingly any cost and the Wizards, despite not being competitive since 2017, are seeking a bargain deal. They may even pay top dollar give their track record.
