In a significant blow to the Baltimore Ravens, Pro Bowl cornerback Marlon Humphrey is slated to undergo foot surgery, leaving the team with a void in their cornerback position.

The duration of Humphrey’s absence is yet to be determined, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh assured that it won’t be a long-term setback.

Humphrey has been dealing with this lingering foot injury, and the decision for surgery aims to address the issue effectively.

However, the Ravens’ cornerback depth has already been affected by injuries previously, with Rock Ya-Sin sidelined since early August due to a non-serious knee injury.

Other cornerbacks, including Jalyn Armour-Davis, Arthur Maulet, and Damarion Williams, have also been out of action this week.

Williams, who underwent ankle surgery, is not expected to return until October.

Additionally, Trayvon Mullen, acquired from the Raiders, suffered a season-ending toe injury before training camp.

The Ravens are now relying on Brandon Stephens, who initially played safety during training camp, and Kevon Seymour, a veteran on his fourth team, as their top cornerbacks.

Harbaugh acknowledged the short-term concerns but expressed confidence in the available players while remaining open to potential additions.

Humphrey, known for his playmaking abilities, is considered one of the Ravens’ best cornerbacks in franchise history.

With three Pro Bowl selections to his name, he joins the elite company of Ray Lewis and Ed Reed as the only players in Ravens history to achieve double-digit forced fumbles and interceptions.

The absence of Humphrey will undoubtedly impact the defense, but Ravens middle linebacker Roquan Smith expressed confidence in the team’s ability to adapt and compensate during his absence.
