Age is only a number and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll takes that phrase to heart. According to Seahawks reporter Brady Henderson, Caroll has developed a new routine:
A regular sight at Seahawks practice is 71-year-old Pete Carroll — in his trademark fit of khakis and Air Monarchs — running 100-yard sprints during warmups. He did it again today in 90-something-degree heat.
"That's Pete, man. He's the ageless wonder," Geno Smith said.

At 71 years old, Carroll is still running 100-yard sprints. Not only is he long-winded enough to still be doing long sprints, but he is also doing it in 90-degree weather. “That’s Pete, man. He’s the ageless wonder,” said quarterback Geno Smith.
Being surrounded by some of the premier athletes in the world has helped keep Carroll young. Carroll’s spirited personality and high energy have trickled down to the rest of the team for years. The players rally around Carroll and moments like this inspire them to be the best versions of themselves.
Players like Smith see that Carroll is still able to physically perform the way he does at his age and it shows them that they can do it too if they put in the work. Carroll is instilling confidence into his players.
His charisma and character have enabled him to become one of the best coaches in the NFL. He has a career 161-112-1 record in 17 years of being a head coach, winning a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2013.
Whenever Carroll ultimately decides to retire, he will certainly be heading to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
