Ravens injury news: Big blow for Baltimore as Pro Bowl CB “may require medical procedure”

Its bad news for the Baltimore Ravens, as cornerback Marlon Humphrey is said to reportedly miss the start of the regular season and will be absent for a month.

After a foot injury during a practice session, the Pro Bowl cornerback will have to undergo surgery. 

The injury sustained will require a medical procedure, and will subsequently extend the recovery time for Humphrey.

John Harbaugh, Raven’s coach expresses that the injury is not long-term and no specific time has been given yet. 

He said, “There’s no long-term concern, and that’s good,”

“There’s plenty of short-term concern. We’ve got to look at that, and it starts with the guys you have. We have guys that are ready to play.”

This week there are some cornerbacks who have been sidelined and they are Arthur Maulet, Damarion Williams, and Jalyn Armour-Davis. 

Williams will undergo surgery on his left ankle. His surgery will be this week and he will be absent till October. 

From the Raven’s side, Mullen will also be absent as he has been injured as well, after he sustained a toe injury.

Humphrey, the three-time Pro Bowl defender is one of three players in the League history to have double-digit forced fumbles and interceptions in a career. 

He shares this along with Hall of Fame defenders Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. 

Roquan Smith, Ravens middle linebacker regarding this situation expresses, “”It definitely hurts the defense when a leader like Marlon is not out there with us,”

“I know he’ll get back as soon as he can, and we’ll pick up the slack when he’s not out there.”

The Baltimore Ravens are set to open the season with their match against Indianapolis Colts.
