Adam Schefter goes ballistic about Mike Shanahan not being in the Hall of Fame: I Think It’s a Bunch of BS

The NFL announced its 2024 class for the Pro Football Hall of Fame this week and long-time Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan did not get voted in.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter did not take kindly to the news when he found out. Speaking on Schlereth and Evans, Schefter stated: “I think it’s a bunch of BS. Mike Shanahan is a Hall of Famer yesterday, today, and tomorrow.”

Schefter wasn’t necessarily upset with the voters who kept Shanahan out of the Hall of Fame, but he was upset with the voting process. Only one coach/contributor gets selected for every Hall of Fame class, which makes it extremely difficult.

Shanahan, father of current San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, is mostly known for his time spent with the Broncos. During his time in Denver, he led the team to two consecutive Super Bowls in 1997-1998. He is the Broncos all-time leader for most regular season game wins and the most playoff wins.

In his 20-year coaching career, Shanahan had a 170-138 record.

Before joining the Broncos, his coaching career began in 1988 with the Los Angeles Raiders. After coaching the Broncos from 1995-2008 with the Broncos, Shanahan spent his final four years with the Washington Redskins.

“These are mistakes,” said Schefter.

Schefter is very adamant that Shanahan is a Hall of Famer regardless of what voters say. He spoke with conviction on Schlereth and Evans, trying to get his point across to anyone that will listen.

The point is that Mike Shanahan is a Hall of Famer whether he was voted in by the committee or not and that the voting process needs to be fixed.
