Former offensive lineman in the NFL, Ross Tucker made some wry comments during the broadcast of the Browns versus Eagles preseason game played last night, wondering aloud why kids across the global are not being exposed to football.
Tucker, who has played for five different NFL teams, the Redskins, Cowboys, Bills, Patriots and Browns, in his career was bemused as to how popular soccer is and why kids are tweeting so much about the sport.
“Scott, think of the kids, there are kids out there that think soccer is the best sport, we gotta grow this thing (Football) internationally so they know,” he said.
“I just want young people across the globe to at least know about American Football, to at least know it exists,” he implored.
There is no existential crisis facing football in America, it is just that soccer has ben and will likely continue to be the most popular sport.

Tucker might be upset, but the US is hosting the Soccer World Cup in 2026, so it is natural for kids to turn their focus towards the likes of Messi, Ronaldo Neymar Jr, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, and Harry Kane.
