Overoptimistic or Delusional? Aaron Judge believes Yankees “just a couple of streaks away from being where we want to be”

The New York Yankees sit bottom of the AL East with a 60-61 record, yet Aaron Judge believes a few hot streaks can see them qualify for the playoffs.

The Yankees will have to start that streak when they take on fellow strugglers the Red Sox, who have a 63-58 season under their belts.

“”We’re just a couple streaks away from being right where we want to be,” Judge said. “Just like skip said all year it’s right in front of us.”

Both teams have underwhelmed and are far off the division leading Orioles (74-47) and second placed Rays (73-50).

There is a fine line between genius and madness, optimism and delusional and Judge is walking the tightrope, balancing an elephant on his broad shoulders.

The outfielder, who hit an MLB-leading 62 homers in 2022, will need to go on one of the hottest streaks since Wile E. Coyote tried to out dash the Road Runner.

An X post quickly went viral, with almost 1 million views, with the star expressing optimism, but the 19-second clip does not talk about statistical anomalies.

Who knows, Judge could be prescient, and the Yankees could go on the hot streak, but this is planet Earth, and it is calling BS on Judge.
