Pittsburgh Pirates No. 1 pick and MLB top prospect Paul Skenes is taking a bold stand for his privacy amidst the unrelenting media attention that has encircled his romantic involvement with LSU star gymnast, Olivia Dunne.
Meanwhile, Skenes spoke about how the couple do not get any privacy and stated, “It can be a pain in the butt sometimes, to be honest, in terms of actually going somewhere," in a new interview with The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. making it clear that he values his personal space.
He also stated, “If one of us went out in Baton Rouge [La.] by ourselves, there"s probably gonna be someone there asking for something — picture, autograph, whatever."
Additionally, Skenes took a stance about his girlfriend, Olivia Dunne saying, “I do wish she could come to a baseball game and just enjoy it. It does irk me. I don"t have any control over it. She really doesn"t either. I"m sure it"ll get better as I go up levels, but that"s something I want for her."
The rumors of Olivia Dunne dating Paul Skenes first surfaced on the internet when eagle-eyed fans spotted the LSU gymnast sporting Skenes" jersey during College World Series in June.
The second hint was when Dunne posted a picture on Instagram of her donning a Pirates cap in Bradenton, Florida.
The third and significant indication occurred when Olivia was present at Skenes" inaugural game with the Bradenton Marauders, the Single-A affiliate of the Pirates.
Apparently, the pair crossed paths via Skenes" friend, Garrett Edward, who happens to be in a relationship with Elena Arenas, who is Dunne"s teammate in gymnastics at LSU.
As an internet star with over 4 million followers, Olivia Dunne is currently dealing with intense negativity on the internet after Skenes verified his romantic involvement with her.
However, Paul has also been making a deliberate effort to avoid social media in order to prevent encountering hurtful comments about either himself or Dunne.
