The Philadelphia Phillies played against the Washington Nationals in the 2023 Little League Classic. Before the game, there was a pre-taped segment that asked players different questions.
One of the questions asked leading up to the first pitch was, “Who would you love to meet?”
Washington National’s shortstop CJ Abrams said his choice would be Jay-Z. Phillies star Bryce Harper said he already met the person he’d love to meet, naming the Phillie Phanatic. Then, Trea Turner named the person he’d love to meet:

Turner’s choice of Elon Musk has certainly drawn plenty of attention.
Musk is a very controversial figure that not everyone seems to agree on.
Musk is the founder, CEO, and chief engineer of SpaceX, an American space telecommunications defense company. More recently, he has become known for his acquisition of Twitter (now known as X).
There were certainly plenty of mixed responses to Turner’s decision to name Musk as a person he’d love to meet.
Ironically, fans all over the world took to social media (using Musk’s platform, X) to express their displeasure with Turner’s choice.
Turner currently has a .250 batting average to go along with 14 home runs, 46 runs batted in, and 22 stolen bases through 122 games this season.
The former World Series champion and two-time All-Star has played an important role for the National League Wild Card leading Phillies. The Phillies have a 67-57 record and have a 2.5-game lead in the race for the Wild Card.
