Cincinnati Bengals RB has been a main topic of discussion this Summer. Unfortunately, it has been more for his off-field issues than his on-the-field performance.
Mixon was recently found not guilty of aggravated menacing stemming from a traffic altercation. A woman accused Mixon of threatening her with a gun but was not able to prove that there was a gun in the running back’s vehicle.
If found guilty, Mixon could have faced up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Since the case has concluded, Mixon has resumed practicing with the Bengals. However, he decided not to address the media on Sunday, his first opportunity to do so after being found not guilty.
The Bengals running back has made it clear that if he speaks with the media, there are certain media members he will not be talking to.
He listed these four reporters: Ben Baby (ESPN), Kelsey Conway (Cincinnati Enquirer), James Rapien (Sports Illustrated), and Jay Morrison (Pro Football Network)
Mixon is unhappy with how these four media personalities are illustrating him on their respective platforms and will not be speaking with them moving forward.
Peter Schaffer, Mixon’s agent told Baby that "you [he] consistently look for the negative and always are putting the players down."
Mixon has made it clear he will accommodate reporters mostly, but he has no plans to converse with the aforementioned reporters.
With the aggravated menacing charges officially behind Mixon, he looks to avoid any more potential distractions in preparation for the Bengals Week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns.
