A Big 3 in Minnesota? NBA Insider thinks Lillard should join Anthony Edwards and Timberwolves

Despite the overwhelming indications that Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard will be traded to the Miami Heat, other teams are still in the running.

In the latest instalment of The Bill Simmons Podcast, he talked about the possibility of Lillard signing a contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Simmons also said, "You wonder if Damian Lillard is watching this [Minnesota] going ‘You know what? Me for Towns. You just switch us,"

"We have Gobert. We have Edwards. It’s kinda nice. Me & Ant together. I’ll be align with this guy who’s clearly going to be one of the best five or six guys in the league. Maybe that’s a better situation for me than anywhere else. And I want to win a title and this doesn’t seem unrealistic to me. F**k it. Minnesota, I’m adding them to the list."

Many NBA analysts are optimistic about the upcoming future of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

This offseason, Anthony Edwards, their shooting guard is showing a promising game, which also comes as a good news for the Timberwolves..

During the World Cup practice between USA and Germany, he led the team to victory with 34 points.

Well, with Anthony Edwards firing on all cylinders, Lillard would be an added advantage to the Timberwolves side for this season.

As it is seen that Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert have dominated the frontcourt, Lillard and Edwards might make a thunderous duo to handle the backcourt.

Meanwhile, in order to acquire Lillard, the Timberwolves might have to let go of point guard Mike Conley who is about to enter the final year of a three-year contract.

If Lillard"s trade talks with the Miami Heat does not come to a mutually satisfying agreement then it would be safe to say that the Minnesota Timberwolves could be another great option for him.

Last season, Lillard averaged a career-high 32.2 points per game.

Meanwhile, in 2023 the talented guard was named the NBA Three-Point Contest champion.
