Fans who were looking forward to the possibility of Ronda Rousey returning to UFC may want to tamper expectations after hearing UFC President Dana White’s most recent comments.

With UFC 300 looming, there were rumors of Rousey potentially returning to the octagon for the first time since 2016. White quickly shot that down in an interview with Sports Illustrated: “There’s no shot,” said White. “She’s accomplished everything she set out to do.”

Rousey went 12-2 in her career as a professional mixed martial arts fighter, earning the title of UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion in 2013 when she defeated Liz Caemouche. Rousey would hold onto that title for nearly three years before getting knocked out by Holly Holm.

After retiring from MMA, Rousey became the first female fighter to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.

Now, at age 36, Rousey has taken her talents to the WWE. She took an extended absence from the WWE after losing in WrestleMania 35 before returning to the Royal Rumble in 2022. This has led fans to believe that Rousey is in the final stages of her career as a professional athlete.

“Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it,” White said. Having achieved all the goals she set for herself and her abundance of wealth, Rousey doesn’t need to put herself in harm’s way anymore after doing it for over a decade.
