In the “Pricey Gifts and Freudian Slips” episode of the podcast, Separation Anxiety, NBA legend Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan started a riveting discussion centering around the gender-driven expectations in modern dating.
Marcus believes men are held to a different standard when it comes to showering their significant others with extravagant presents.
“I do feel like as a guy there is a scale of time spent together versus the price and value of a gift,” said junior Jordan. I feel like over time you constantly have to outdoyourself. So if you start off with a $1,000,000 gift, by year five you’re up to $5,000,000 in gifts. Am I wrong? I just think there’s a double standard between guys gifting and girls gifting.”
It is worth noting, Marcus is fresh-off celebrating girlfriend Larsa Pippen’s 49th birthday, and, fans certainly understand the origin of his bold perspectives regarding gifitng norms.
In June 2023, the couple introduced their joint podcast called “Separation Anxiety” on iHeartRadio.
The following month, there was significant media attention when Michael Jordan conveyed his concerns about his son’s involvement with Pippen. Later, Jordan emphasized that his entire family is fully supportive of their relationship.
“We spent Thanksgiving together last year, and my family loves her. They think she’s great,” Jordan said in an Entertainment Tonight interview. “And ultimately, I think my family just wants to see me happy. And so as long as I’m happy, they’re happy with whoever I’m dating.”
He added that he’s introduced her to his family on both his mom and dad’s side. “I think that went well and so far, so good.”
Well, it has now been seven months since the couple went public about their relationship.
