After joining the prestigious ranks of the Jordan Brand athletes on Friday, the picture of Aaron Judge wearing his own player-exclusive sneakers: the Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Double Gum’ PE has gone viral on social media.

The New York Yankees captain’s player-exclusive design has been put together by Jordan Brand’s PE designer extraordinaire, Ryan Smith.

Apparently, the concept of Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Double Gum’ PE draws inspiration from a playful connection to the Judge’s on-field antics.

As avid Aaron Judge fans are aware that the slugger believes in the superstition of chewing gums.

Judge’s gum ritual, which kicks off with the first pitch and stretches until the final out. He chomps down on his gum with the opening pitch, resolving to change these chewy companions only in the face of a strikeout. Aaron’s target is to ensure that he chews the same gum throughout the whole game.

Currently, Judge is the fifth active MLB outfielder to ink a deal with the Jordan Brand.

The collaboration cements Judge’s place among a star-studded lineup of MLB stars including Manny Machado, Mookie Betts, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and most recently, Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Notably, Judge also becomes the first Yankee captain since the legendary Derek Jeter to be a part of the Jordan Brand family.

Currently, the Yankees find themselves languishing at the bottom of the American League East standings.

While the team’s collective performance has undoubtedly fallen short of expectations, Aaron Judge’s individual excellence continues to shine through.

Even a midseason setback, in the form of a troublesome toe injury that sidelined Judge for almost 50 games, couldn’t hinder his impact. Returning to action with his signature flair, Judge picked up right where he left off.

With a .281 batting average, a formidable .415 on-base percentage, and a staggering .615 slugging percentage, Judge’s offensive prowess has been a lifeline for a struggling lineup.
