The Miami Heat has been in discussion with the Portland Trail Blazers regarding a trade involving Damian Lillard, the superstar point guard of the Blazers.
Although it seems like the deal is not progressing at the speed it should be, but Miami Heat is discussing plans to approach this deal so they can have both Lillard and Tyler Herro at the same time around.
ESPN analyst, Amin Elhassan, offers his perspective on this issue.
He revealed this in the NBA Today podcast. He said, "What I get from what’s happening is it’s not, ‘No one wants Tyler Herro.’ It’s, ‘Portland is asking for more."
They [Miami] have a landing spot for Tyler Herro somewhere, they’ve got the other pieces that they’re offering. Portland is looking for more. Now, whether that’s more picks or more players, I don’t know.
But it’s not a question of nobody wanting Tyler Herro: There’s a landing spot for Tyler Herro. That part has been taken care of."
However, the Portland Trail Blazers are taking their time to finalize the contract.
On the Heat’s side, there are indications that the team wants to keep Herro and also acquire Lillard.
It will be substantial if the Miami Heat can complete a deal while retaining their three gold players.
With several rumors running around the deal, there is no further clarity provided of where the Blazers would like to take the trade.
