On August 18, Kansas City Chiefs’ star Chris Jones came forward to uncover a deceptive GoFundMe scheme that has been impersonating him while misleading his fans to contribute to the false scheme.
“I need $10,000,000 more to play football,” the GoFundMe landing page says.
Chris Jones has started a go fund me for the Chiefs to be able to afford him this year.

Well, as soon as the image of the fundraiser was shared on X, the Chiefs advised fans against contributing funds to the campaign.
“Lol. This is not me do not send no money to this,” Jones wrote on X.

The most hilarious part is that the fundraiser had already raised 43k by the time it was exposed by Chris Jones.
Currently, the Chiefs star has announced his decision to withhold his participation until Week 8 of the upcoming season.
The reason? A contract dispute.
Jones finds himself in the final year of a substantial £15.8 million ($20 million) per annum contract. However, this reigning powerhouse has set his sights on a new deal that would elevate his annual earnings to a staggering £23.7 million ($30 million).
The contract turmoil has already seen Jones being absent from the Chiefs’ crucial training camp sessions.
For each day he remains conspicuously absent, the superstar athlete incurs a fine amounting to £39,565 ($50,000).
This financial repercussion, however, hasn’t deterred Jones from his course of action.
